Receiving
hello, when i do my push which angle of the racket need to be when your oponent serving sidespin inverse backspin.. can you show me which angle need to be when i returning these serves with my push ??
Hi John,
To counter the backspin you would need the blade facing the roof. To counter the sidespin you need to face it to the side as well. It is an experimentation to get it just right but as long as you understand the principle you will be able to adjust after a few serves to get it right.
We cover the principles fully in our course on Receiving Secrets. This is available to all of our Premium members to show you in great detail how to return difficult serves.
After the ball has left the server's bat, they can no longer affect the spin that is on the ball. Any movements after the contact are referred to as fake movements and are meant to confuse you as the receiver. You need to focus on the contact to read the spin.
