Strokes
Hi Alois!
When i watch the video on how to do forehand/forehand position, i do as you said in that video and it works well. But when im playing with my friend and im tried to do the forehand position, it didn't work well. I take my arm as you said in the video and the other things you said with the legs and the other things. But when i was trying to do the forehand postion im tried to have my arm as you said but it didn't work because i was too hard with the arm, legs and the other things. So i lost the control and im lost the control every single time i do it.
I dont what i'm going to do.
Please answer to my question, and i would be so happy!
Hi Anthony,
It is good that you have learnt the basic forehand stroke. Now it is a matter of putting it together with other strokes which is what happens in a game situation.
In training, practice switching between one forehand and one backhand. Then also do a drill where your training partner is hitting the ball anywhere but slowly. This will get you used to being able to move from a different position to the forehand position and then play the shot.
In this video, we dive into the forehand push, a crucial defensive stroke in table tennis that allows you to control rallies with effective backspin. We break down the three key concepts—start position, feet position, and finish position—to help you execute the stroke with precision. You'll also learn how to adjust your bat angle to generate varying degrees of backspin, depending on the spin your opponent imparts on the ball. Finally, we'll guide you through practical drills to enhance your proficiency and consistency with the forehand push, ensuring you're well-prepared for your next match. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your technique, this tutorial will provide you with the tools to master the forehand push.

Hi Anthony,
Get your training partner to block the ball anywhere on the table. You just hit the ball back to their backhand corner.
