Hi Jordan,

The best thing would be to watch the Lesson on the Forehand Topspin against backspin . This will give you some solid teaching points to follow.

You should also get yourself a copy of the Serving Secrets Revealed DVD through our online store. This points out some great teaching tips about how to get a good serve.  With the Australian Dollar going down, you should be able to get yourself a bargain at the moment.

The DVD goes through how to brush the ball on contact and the movements you need to improve your serves. It also talks about different types of serves like the Pendulum serve, the Reverse pendulum serve and the High Toss serve.

Good luck with your table tennis.  If you have any other queries after watching these videos just ask another question and we will help you out.

Anticipation

How is it that a player can always seem to get back those extremely fast topspins? Is it their incredible anticipation? The key to good anticipation actually lies in tracking the ball well. When you watch the ball closely your peripheral vision will pick up your opponents movements and with lots of practice those signs will help you anticipate what your opponent is going to do. This happens naturally with lots of experience. So it it your job to ensure that you are tracking the ball really carefully.
