Hey Alois & Jeff, all of a sudden my forehand has went from amazing to terrible... I don't know why but it just got awfully inconsistent from being what won me games to trouble for me... Is their any tips on getting consistent again? Any tips, any drills, somtimes I swing and don't even hit the ball :/  Also I haven't noticed any change in my technique or stroke so i don't know what's happend, but that it just got inconsistent... Could you guys help me out     Thanks :)

Hi Collin,

I find that happens quite a lot especially in the early stages.

Just go back to basics.  Think about the stroke and do it as slowly as you can.  If you are not hitting the ball go back a step to just tapping the ball onto the table.  Usually it is confidence and technique that will let you down.

The game can be so fast that technique becomes so important.  If it breaks down a little then you can go from great to terrible in a short space of time.  That is why even the top players always start a training session with some really basic things like hitting forehand to forehand.

Ok just for a quick update, my forehand is getting better and better slowly but surely! its getting back to what it was, and thats thanks to you guys! :)  i do have a quick question... Should I be keeping my elbow stiff in a 90 degree angle through the whole stroke? or should i keep my forehand/elbow loose and end in the standard "90 90 degree angles"  Thanks guys so much

Good to hear you are making progress.

You arm should start almost straight and then move through to a 90 degree angle so keep it more relaxed.
