Forehand Chop Block

Strokes

Hey guys. Any tips on the forehand chop block? Currently I'm trying to execute it like how I would do a backhand chop block, but I find it rather difficult to get the correct angle. The ball doesn't jump too high, but there's significantly less spin compared to my backhand. I know it's not a very practical stroke, but I was thinking that it would add an element of surprise to my playstyle.

Hi Jack,

This is possible but not a shot that is used a lot.  With the backhand you can use the wrist more naturally to generate the spin.  You will need to relax your wrist more with the forehand shot.  Depending on the type of shot you want to play you need to manipulate your wrist into a position to allow for the stroke.  You might need to bend your wrist back to get a straighter contact.
