Master Rosario,

When you hit backhand topspin (against block or light topspin) in the ball contact, is there motion forward with forearm(starting from elbow)?

Thank you in advance

Hi Il,

The forearm does go forward. The type of spin on the ball coming to you determines the angle of your swing.  The more topspin on the ball, the more forward the swing will be.  This is to get over the ball.  Otherwise the ball will go off the end of the table.

Against the backspin ball your forearm can go up more vertically.
