Forearm and wrist movement with long pimpled chop

Strokes

Hi coach,

I had a question reading long pimple chopping.  I noticed that when chopping with long pimples, I can generate more reversal of the spin when I bend the pips as I'm chopping.  I tried to maximize this by flicking my wrist more as I'm chopping.   However, I noticed that this tends to pop the ball up more which makes it easier to smash.  Is the key to making the chop lower thru moving the forearm more vertical while snapping the wrist or more horizontal?

Thanks for your help!  You guys are awesome.

Hi Edison,

To get the ball lower you need to make the stroke more vertical.  You can still snap the wrist through to get more effect.

The faster the ball hits the pimple the more they will bend.
