Strokes
Hi,
It seems that currently the type of ball I have the greatest problems dealing with is, oddly enough, a fast, flat ball to my backhand, with no or very few spin and at least to the middle of the table if not longer. Often I play it into the net, although usually my backhand is even my stronger side.
I guess my options are either to step back further and chop it or to lift it with a bit of topspin to give it a trajectory over the net. Or maybe simple blocking is also okay as long as I do not do too much in terms of an attacking stroke?
Can you give me some advice or point me to a video taking up that situation?
Hi Otfried,
I find the best option with this ball is often a short topspin stroke where you are playing the stroke very vertically. The faster speed of the ball coming in makes it feel heavier than it is that is why you need the very vertical stroke to get it up an dover the net.
