First Table Tennis Bat Setup

Equipment

I have been playing for 6 months and now I play for my district state. I've been using pre-assembled recreational bat and I've been told to get a better, more advanced bat as I am playing at a higher level now. My playing style is often towards mid-distance forehand topspin, close to the table spins and sometimes I play defensive, depending on the scenario. What table tennis blade and rubbers should I get? (Shakehand. $80-$110, is that cheap??) Thank you PingSkills for reading this :)

Hi Sri Santhiyah,

The main thing is the type of rubber.  We recommend something like a Mark V rubber on an all-round type blade.  We have the PingSkills Touch with Mark V rubber as an option.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
