First bounce depth on the server's side of the table

Hi Alois,

I just watched the service depth video. I've been practicing to keep my service short and most of the time i can make the serve to bounce twice on the opponents side but the real difficulty for me is that the ball doesn't keep low and it is easy for my opponent to return it with push or flick. I would like to know the depth of the serve when the ball bounces on the server's side of the table. I know this varies with different serves. If you can make a video to emphasis on the depth, it would be really helpful. Keep up the great work!!

Cheers

Ravi

Hi Ravi,

Try to get the ball to bounce quite close to you.  Between your end line and about 30cm in.

The height is also dependent on the height of your contact on the ball.  Try to hit the ball from lower and see if it helps.

No Spin Serve

It may sound like a bad idea but the no spin serve can be effective when put together with a range of spin serves. In fact, this is a must have in your arsenal of serves.
