Serving
How do you serve a fast tomhawk serve?
Hi Somshekar,
For the tomahawk serve, you need to get down quite low so that you can serve the ball low. If you hit this serve from too high, it will bounce high. To get the tomahawk serve fast, you need to hit the ball quite fast so get your bat moving quickly. Try to get the first bounce fairly close to you so the ball has time to get up over the net and then back down on your opponent's side.
A good way to practice serving this fast, is to actually try and serve the ball of the end of the table. This will force you to hit the ball quite hard. Once you've got the feeling of how hard you can hit the ball you'll have a good indication of exactly how fast you can serve it and still keep it on the table.
