How to chop a ball at a very high speed?
Hi Parth,
It is difficult to make a push at high speed. Because the ball has backspin it will rise and with the higher speed the ball will often go to long. That is why we try to put topspin on the ball when we hit it faster. The topspin brings the ball down onto the table.
You can do it but you have a very low margin for error.
When you need to reach that really wide ball the regular shuffle step just won't get you there in time so you need to use the crossover step. This is essentially a running action to get you to the ball as fast as possible.
