Hi Alois

Do you think fan zhendong will dominate the whole sport of table tennis and be the 1st male to win 2 olympics in a row? Because it seems to me that there is no one in the chinese team who can beat fan zhendong after ma long, zhang jike and xu xin retire. (Fang Bo hasn't beaten fan zhengdong yet) If fan zhendong can win over xu xin in tokyo, assuming that the 30 year old xu xin qualified in 2020, then fan zhendong is pretty much guaranteed to win 2 olympics as there is like no players who can rival him in 2024 except maybe harimoto tomokazu. What are your thoughts?

Hi Yap,

It is difficult to predict the future but if I had to pick someone right now to win the Tokyo Olympics, it would be him.

Eight years is such along time... eight years ago Ma Lin won the Gold medal with Wang Hao the silver and Wang Liqin the bronze.  We have almost forgotten all of those players now...

I think Jung Youngsik could challenge him in the future possibly.

That would be great for the sport if he can reach that level.
