Hi! I'm weiquan. I have seen from a book that the japanese national team can do a fake really well. In that book, it's said that when your rival give you a short ball near the net, you fake your movement, acting you want to push the ball, but immediately you draw back your hand and give it a top spin. I tried it many times but the timing is very hard to catch. is there anyway to make it easier??

Hi Weiquan,

A fake shot is difficult.  Sometimes it is difficult enough to hit a shot without worrying about anything like that.

To make this shot, you put your bat right under the ball coming forward like you are doing a push.  Before contacting the ball, stop and then go backwards and then almost vertically to make the flick stroke.

It is really important that you can make a normal flick well first.
