i am dipansh, i recently joined ping skills. i am wondering how do i keep my game going so i can trick my opponent by placing the ball on the other direction.

Hi Dipanish,

This can be done by slightly adjusting your body position during your stroke.  You could even move your head slightly in an opposite direction while you make the shot.  Of course this is a bit of a party trick and you are better off playing a balanced stroke and playing it a bit faster or to a better position.

Hi Dipansh,

Are you talking about faking the motion or placing the ball in different directions.

OK, sorry I misunderstood.  To change the direction of the ball it can be as subtle as a slight change of wrist.  It can also be done by hitting the ball a little earlier or later to get the ball down the line or cross court.  Take a look at this previous Ask the Coach video response, How to hit the ball down the line.
