Failing serves

Serving

Hey coach

I am failing too many services in matches. I am afraid of make an easy service to the opponent and I take risks. I receive several flicks...

I fail quite enough in the first set and less in the followings.

What can I do mentally, tactically, training ... ?

Thanks a lot

Hi Jesus,

Effective practice is the key.  When you are training try to replicate a match situation when doing your service.  Often in training we don't prepare properly and don't take the time and the care that we do in a match.  So in the match the serve that we use is quite different to the serves we do in practice.  The ore times you can practice it under match type conditions then better you will get at saving and also eliminate the errors that you are making at the moment.

Yes. I forgot training under match conditions. I am doing it now.

In the mean time  I have changed my serve using less backspin anda more sidespin and tomahawk instead of pendulum.

Improving...

Thanks Alois
