Hi coach

ive been having a hard time doing the forehand counter hit

ive been trying to do it for a while now and i end up doing topspins instead, any tips?

Hi Amekun,

Just flatten out the contact a bit.  Don't think of the topspin and counterhit as two different strokes but just different versions of the same stroke.  Take another look at our lesson on the Forehand Counterhit to see if that helps as well.

im having a hard time with the follow through :(

whenever i do my follow through i think i add topspin to my ball

and how many degrees should i angle my racket for the counterhit

As long as you get the contact right the stroke will be good. Don't worry if it feels like a topspin, if the ball is going on consistently that is good.
