Hi Alois! i have some good news, its that i found a fantastic way to practice alone while i cant find a partner, and that is multiball alone without a robot. Now how do i do that if the balls are not feeding to me? well i realized one thing that they said nothing in table tennis is impossible. So i forced myself to think and i said "as im a bit away from the table in my normal position, what if i throw the ball a bit high or lower and do my strokes?" and as you may know i practiced that and improved my forehand and backhand topspin! now, why dont i train with the robot? because the robot wont stop whenever you want unless you press stop on the control box, but now i know in fact with this way, i can stop the drill or exercise whenever i want. And also my robot wont always throw it different directions. But i can sometimes.

Now i have two questions:

1) Is this a good way to practice?

2) If it is, can the one on one ball or two on two balls has to be just counterhitting? or i can do some basic topspinning

Because today i made the current and concentrated on: Counterhitting forehand and backhand, Topspinning forehand and backhand and of course short pushing forehand and backhand and a little bit the pendulum serve.

Thanks! for reading! i love pingskills

Hi George,

This is a good way to practice if you don’t have a partner.

The only limitation is that the ball has a different bounce to a game because in the game the ball is travelling towards you and has it’s own speed.

It is a matter of doing what you can when you can and hit as many balls as you can.

Keep up the good work and keep training.

Ok, but what about the second question? On the one on one ball drills and two on two ball drills, should i only use counterhitting or i can use some topspininng?

Anyways thanks!

With all of the drills, you can do them in different ways depending on your level and also what you want to practice.

If you are good enough then you can use topspin all the time.  Or if you want to develop more control then use the counterhit strokes when doing the drills.

Thanks! and hmm i'd rather have more control because i keep losing some topspins and especially in my forehand and most on backhand so i would recommend myself practice the counterhit for a while and once i generate god control then i go for the fast topspin.

That is good thinking.
