Strokes
Hi Alois. About a week ago I asked how to get more spin, and you and many others commented great tips on how to do so, but I am still baffled as to how professionals can get CRAZY spin on the ball. I practice alone, and I don’t have a table. I try all kinds of different spin techniques, including flicking my wrist as quickly as possible to get the most possible spin. I also hit the ball right on the edge of my racket. But when I watch the pros, it looks like they don’t even flick THAT hard and the ball just makes a near 90 degree turn. So I was wondering. Does the ball have more spin potential when I’m playing against another person, as the ball picks up speed quickly? Or am I doing something wrong? Sorry for the long question. Thanks a lot.
Hi TT,
When the ball is hit to you it will have speed on it so will hit the racket faster enabling you to generate more speed and also spin back to them.
Keep focusing on the contact of the ball on the racket.
