Hi PingSkills, i want to ask about the footwork now

first, is it better to master all basics strokes first before learn the drills and pivot ?
then can i just do the counterhit stroke for the drills and pivot as what i know is many people do the drills and pivot with topspin because i found it harder especially for the backhand topspin.

please for the answer :D thank you very much

Hi Frendy,

You can start to do drills now.  Just use the strokes you feel comfortable with.  As you develop more strokes you can also use them in your footwork drills.

Fast Pushing

Pushing short is a great option but you need variation in your game. When you push the ball long you want to make sure it is fast to try and get your opponent's out of position. Watch this video for some tips on how to play the fast long push with heaps of backspin.

anyway, i have a problem when pivot and hit with my forehand
as the forehand counterhit stroke need a closer position to the table rather than the topspin that can stand not that close to the table
so the problem is when i try to suffle back to hit with my backhand as the position when i pivot to the forehand side...

You need to keep practicing the speed of movement when you are closer to the table.
