Equipment
Hi guys!
I have started using Donic Akkadi L2 with long pimples with 0.6mm rubber Instead of OX variant.
Fabian Åkerström Sweden's best player right now using Akkadi. I wanted to ask for some advice regarding playing style. I'm really offensive, I will be able to use Akkadi (backhand) in some offensive situations? I've tried for a while now, and have difficulty with smash, however, it is very efficient when I chop against an attack, usually I wins.
Also has a little difficulty with serve returns (backhand), ends up in the net too often. Should I abandon this rubber?. I have used so far Stiga Magna TS II on both sides, and my racket is a butterfly Grubba Carbo (large sweetspot). That I said I'm pretty off player, but after seeing Fabian play became fascinated of how he was able to win many points with his backhand (Akkadi L2).
It was a lot, but maybe you can still give me some tips.
Thank you again
Héctor
Hi Héctor,
This rubber only suits a certain type of player. If you like to attack on the backhand, then it is probably best to use an inverted rubber on the backhand.
There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
