Hi Alois and Jeff,

I am currently using Tenergy 05, 2.1mm on my backhand. I am going to replace this 4 year old rubber with new Tenergy 05. I am thinking of buying 1.9 thickness this time but I am very particular about the throw angle and I only like the high throw angle of T05.

May I know if the throw angle will change if I replace with 1.9mm T05.

Regards,

Soe lyin

Hi Soe Lyin,

This is the type of thing that you will need to feel for yourself to be completely certain.  The throw angle won't vary much between the two thicknesses.  What are you wanting to change thicknesses?

Thanks so much Alois.

I wanna reduce the weight of my racket for a few grams.

Thanks a lot again. Happy Christmas and Happy New Year.

That is a good reason.  See how it feels when you make the change.

Be aware that your new rubber will be significantly grippier than your 4 years old one. It will also be more dynamic in the first months (tensor effect, that diminishes over time). Those two things can change the throw angle a bit. So don't blame it on the -0.2mm in the sponge if it happens, and don't throw away such an expensive rubber because of it! :o)
