sir : i want to know what should be the distance between player and table while a backhand smash . for me standing far from table makes a very fast smash but mostly i fail because i can’t shot the ball accurately... while standing closer makes a fine shot but slow ...so please recomend me from above with detail.

Hi Ubaid,

We have a lesson on the Backhand Smash for you.  The distance from the table depends on where the ball bounces on your side.  If the ball bounces close to the net you can move more forward but if it bounces close to the end line then you need to move back.

Remember though that the firs bit of advice about the stroke is that you should try to move around and play a forehand smash whenever you can.
