Footwork
Coach Alois,
when i warm up my BH counter, i have a habit of putting weight on my tippy-toes, the balls of feet and dance left to right, back & forth ... realizing this is not what i do with BH loops in a rally/match (away or close to the table), i have to ask if this "habit" is immaterial since i'm just warming up or stop it immediately? thank you,
andy
Hi Andy,
I would try to replicate your game type movement and balance in the warm up as well. I feel it is better to get the feel as early as possible when you are playing a match.
Most players warm up by hitting forehand to forehand, then backhand to backhand—but is that really the best way to get match ready?
In this video, we reveal a more effective approach to your on-table warm-up that helps you prepare faster and more realistically for actual gameplay. It might not feel as smooth at first, but it will get you sharper, quicker.
Try this new method and let us know how it works for you!
