Difference between short pips long pips/anti-spin players

I noticed that long pips players don't use their pips during the warm up but short pips do use them in warm ups. And during the match, long pips players love twiddling a lot but short pips players don't twiddle much at all. Both pips have different effects compared to inverted rubber. So why the difference?

Hi Jasper,

It is harder to rally with the long pimples and also a lot of players aren't used to the Long pimples so a player using them doesn't want to give their opponent any clues before the match.

More players are used to short pimples as the effect isn't as different as inverted rubbers and you can rally a bit easier in the warm up with them.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!

What about the twiddling part?

There is not as much effect by twiddling as bth rubbers are closer to each other in effect.  You can still attack with the short pimples so not as much need to twiddle for that reason either.
