Hello. What is the difference between forehand loop and forehand drive? When is the appropriate time to use each one? What is the hand movement like?

Hi Karan,

A loop tends to be higher and slower with more spin.  The drive goes lower and still has topspin but not as much as the loop.

The Drive is also known as the Counterhit and the loop is a Topspin against backspin.

Take a look at our two strokes on the Forehand Counterhit and the Forehand Topspin Off Backspin.

The counterhit tends to be used in an open rally when they play to you with topspin.  The Loop is effective against a backspin ball or to add a slower variation against a block ball.
