Strokes
Hi,
I would like to ask you how many grips exist?
And if you can point the advantages and disadvantages?
I know about the handshake grip and the penhold grip.
I heard the term hammer grip: if i am not mistaking it is a grip similar to handshake but the index finger is not extended, it is on the handle like the other 3 fingers.
I am also particularly interested in a comparison between the hammer grip and the handshake grip because I have a friend who uses the hammer grip.
Thank You,
Sebastian
Hi Sebastian,
The shakehand and penhold are the two most popular grips. There is also the Seemiller grip where you use the same side of the bat for both backhand and forehand.
The disadvantage with the Hammer grip is that you don't have as much control over the racket head.
I would recommend either the shakehand or penhold grips if you are choosing a grip.
