Hello sir,

This is Deepjyoti. Sir I have a question that whenever I play training with my friend he chops it so much that I just put a touch on the ball it touches the net. Even if I smash it touches the net. What should I do to defend it. I will be waiting for your answer.

Hi Deepjyoti,

Try to use the Backhand Push stroke.  Or if you are more advanced you can try the Forehand Topspin Off Backspin.  If you smash the ball the ball will go into the net because the backspin will make the ball go down off your bat.

Hi Soham,

You need to watch each ball.  Watch the contact on their bat and also listen to the flight of the ball and watch the flight of the ball. All these will give you clues as to the amount of spin on the ball.  Then it is a matter of experience and getting enough play against these variations to learn.

If you play a higher topspin with more spin you will give yourself more margin for error as well.
