Hi,

Any of those thicknesses are OK.  Depends on your feel for the ball and what you like.  The thicker the sponge the more speed you will get out of it.  With the Feint Long if you have no sponge it will be harder for you to handle but you will get more effect.

To start with I would go with one of the thinner sponges on the Tackiness Chop for more control 1.5 or 1.7 and probably 1.1 on the Feint Long.

In regards to the Feint Long, playing with no sponge is different to playing with sponge. With no sponge, chopping is slow and consistent but produces no variation in spin. With sponge, the thicker it is, the more variation in spin you can produce but it is also faster.

It depends on what kind of game you want to play and how experienced you are at playing with long pips. If you are starting out I would recommend playing with 0.5 sponge as it's very controllable in chopping and can still slightly vary the spin which you want to produce more errors out of your opponent.
