Do you know if "Copydex" which is a latex type of glue is good enough for sticking rubbers to blades.
Thank LesĀ
Hi Les,
Thanks for your question regarding the use of "Copydex" glue for attaching table tennis rubbers to blades. It's important to note that Copydex is a rubber latex-based adhesive typically used for arts and crafts, fabric, and various household applications. While it might seem like a feasible option due to its rubbery properties, it's not specifically designed for table tennis rubbers and blades. For optimal performance and to ensure you don't damage your equipment, I would recommend using water-based glues that are specifically designed for table tennis. These glues are formulated to provide the right level of adherence and elasticity needed for the rubber to perform effectively on the blade. They also make it easier to remove and replace the rubber when needed without damaging the blade or rubber. Using the correct glue will also ensure that you stay compliant with ITTF regulations, which is important if you play in official competitions.
There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
