Training
Hello ,
i just started playing table tennis and i cant understand what we mean by "control". Can you please explain it to me with an example?
Thank you
Hi Nick,
Control is the ability to put the ball where you want to. If we are playing a forehand it is about being able to put the ball on the table many times in a row. The best way to improve control is to try and get as many shots on the table in a row as you can.
Question actions
It's important to take the initiative in a rally. My old coach used to call this forcing the pace. To get better at forcing the pace, we are going to consciously go for more power on our third ball shots. We may miss a few more balls but that is part of our development.
