Coach, I have always had a problem in this, when I try to return the ball, it goes to the other place (like, if I want to return it to backhand side, it goes to forehand side). Please help ... And one more when I try to attack high ball on top of net, it always go out .. And also, when I try to do backhand topspin return, it always go out or else it gets in but slowly, so it's easily returned ... Thanks, Edwin

Hi Edwin,

It sounds like more practice is required to get used to the spin on the ball.  Returning spin comes with more practice.  Understanding the effects of spin and how to counter it are things that we go through in detail in our Receiving Secrets lessons.

With your strokes try to slow them down and put a bit more topspin on the strokes first following the lessons where we show you the strokes on our Strokes & Technique page.  If you follow the correct techniques, the ball will start to go in more consistently.
