Competition Disaster

Hello Alois, I recently entered the Junior Easter Classics!

I didn't play a game for 4 hours, so most of the time i was just watching other people play or i was umpiring. I was trying to get a warm up but there was no one available to play with ... I played terribly that day and i ended up getting kicked out of the first round of both of my events...

I usually have to have a very through warm-up before i can play at my peak. I was just wondering if there was an exercise that i can do before play that could probably get to my peak performance.

Cheers, Kon

Hi Kon,

This is a problem with Table Tennis and the system that many table tennis clubs and associations use for tournaments.  One day it will change... I hope...

It is a shame I di't know you were playing the tournament as i was there briefly in the morning and could have introduced you to some players to practice with.

The best thing is to try to have a hit every 30 minutes or so if you haven't played a match.  If you can't do this as for you, just keep moving and do a bit of running around and keep warm.  Whe you get called to play, take a few moments to get your self ready but preparing with a few stretches and thinking about the match you are going to play.
