Training
Hi Alois and Jeff
You have not heard from me for a while. The fact is that I am getting seriously old (over 73) and am not playing as well as I used to. It is a natural process and I accept it. I come to my question. As a more rewarding part of my hobby I have started helping a coach with young children. I am enjoying it but I am running out of idea to keep the three boys (under my charge) interested and entertained. Do you have any suggestions on how to structure the sessions and some instructive games for them to do? My best regards and thank you for all that you have done for me during all these years. I am in great debt to you. Kind regards.
Filippo
Hi Filippo,
Great to hear that you are helping out with coaching the young players.
Could you follow the 52 Week Training Plan structure for them? How old are they?

In this session we introduce some random drills. A random drill is where you don't always know where the ball is going. Random drills are really important for your development as they are more game like. You need to be able to play your strokes well even when you don't know where the ball is going. We also continue to work on your new serve. This week we introduce a target into your service practice to help you gain even more control on your serve.
