Cleaning the bat with water and garlic

Equipment

Hi Alois,

During a recent club tournament, I saw one of the players cleaning of the rubber with water and wiping/rubbing the surface of the bat with garlic cloves. Does it effect the way the rubber behaves such as improving tackiness? Is it legal? will it increase/decrease the life of the rubbers in any way?

Thanks,
Shaheda

Hi Shaheda,

I haven't seen this before.  Does anyone have any experience with this?

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!

Pretty sure that the ITTF has no explicit ban against werewolf repellants
