Hi PingSkills,

Does cleaning the rubber with water and sponge is better than cleaning the rubber with rubber foam and sponge.

If water gets in contact with the sponge below the rubber, will affect the play?

Does cleaning the rubber with detergent affect the play?

Hi Ryan,

We recommend cleaning the bat with water and a damp sponge.  The rubber cleaners are OK, but not really worth the cost.  If you use a little detergent that is OK, just make sure it is very weak and you don't need to use it all the time.

Water getting under the rubber is OK, in small quantities.  I wouldn't leave it there for too long though.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
