Hi Alois,

how do you clean a table tennis table effectively so I don’t hinder it’s performance?

Hi Kabeer,

I just use water with a little soap solution such as a dishwashing solution.  It only needs to be very weak to get rid of some of the grease and sweat that may build up on the table.  Make sure you don't leave the table wet for too long.

Choosing a Table Tennis Bat

Make sure you buy a table tennis bat that is suitable for your level and allows you to develop your technique. For your first bat we recommend the PingSkills Rook, and when you upgrade to a custom bat we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V or Rakza 7.

Kabeer, is it a timber table top with a paint finish, or a melamine finish?

A weak soapy solution (luke-warm water) will work on either.  However, if it is a melamine surface you can use a range of other products, such as methylated spirits, a spray-on liquid household cleaner without damaging the surface. Never use an abrasive cleaner though.   In any case, make sure your rinse it off with a clean (non soapy) damp (not wet) cloth the avoid leaving a residue. If possible dry the table straight away with a chamois or micro fibre cloth.

Cheers
