Dear PingSkills,

I am currently playing tenergy 05 on FH & BH my blade is timo boll ALC. I like to change up my rubbers to chinese rubbers. I like to loop (topspin ) and hit the ball hard. But my backhand is not that strong. What would you recommend?

Cheers,

Sam

(sorry my english is not that great )

Hi Sam,

What is the reason for wanting to switch? As long as you have a good reason it is OK. I find that a lot of players like to switch rubbers as they think it will give them some advantage. I think the reverse is often true. As long as you are using good quality rubbers, which Tenergy certainly is, you are better off sticking with the same combination so you have consistency of equipment. If you are changing all the time, when you make mistakes, it's hard to tell if it is a problem with your technique or just you getting used to the new equipment.

I don't know a lot about the Chinese rubbers. Does anyone have any suggestions for Sam? Is so please leave a comment.

Chinese rubbers are defnitely slower than tenergy, maybe except the hurricane neo national

Sam,

Most of Chinese players use tenergy 5 / 64 on their backhand and Hurricane Neo 3 National on FH, only to make a little list: Ma Long, Zhang Jike, Wang Liquin.

Take a look on that page: http://mytabletennis.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=34187&title=the-pros-equipment-discussion-and-questions
