Hi Simon,
I think this is a real problem with our game and one of my big bug bears with our game. I have often noted this to others. The Tennis players are well drilled in what to do after matches, including thanking the crowd for their support, even if no one supported them. They also thank all the sponsors and show delight about their wins. You are right, the Table Tennis players have a lot to learn from their Tennis counterparts.
I don't think it is that the players do not get on with each other. In fact they probably know each other better than the tennis players.
Hopefully this will improve in the future for the good of Table Tennis and the audiences.
A lot of players don’t use their best serve enough — or worse, they use it at the wrong time. In this video, Jeff and Alois break down how to make smarter decisions about when to use your strongest serve and how to adjust based on your opponent, the score, and the pressure.
✅ What you’ll learn:
Your best serve should win you more than just a few points — it should help you win matches.
