Hi Alois and Jeff,

I have seen a few of the games between the Chinese players, the like of Xu Xin, Ma Lin, Ma Long etc, and none of them seem to show any sort of emotion at the end of the game. Usually, when you have a tight game with someone you know well, you would give them a smile and a proper handshake at the end of the match. When you watch the Tennis, at the end of a game between the big four players, they embrace eachother like they are best friends, which is good to see. Do these top Chinese players not get on or something!? They can barely look each other in the eye!

Hi Simon,

I think this is a real problem with our game and one of my big bug bears with our game.  I have often noted this to others.  The Tennis players are well drilled in what to do after matches, including thanking the crowd for their support, even if no one supported them.  They also thank all the sponsors and show delight about their wins.  You are right, the Table Tennis players have a lot to learn from their Tennis counterparts.

I don't think it is that the players do not get on with each other.  In fact they probably know each other better than the tennis players.

Hopefully this will improve in the future for the good of Table Tennis and the audiences.
