Chinese and european rubber

Hi alois,

i just bought a Double happiness Skyline 3 tg3 rubber with special chinese sponge number 21 which the color is blue (just like the china national team sponge)

i want to ask you what's the different between chinese and european rubber ? because i use tenergy 05 fx for my forehand now

Hi Adrian,

The Chinese rubber tends to have a harder sponge.  The blue sponge tends to be quite hard.  With the harder rubber you can bush over the ball a bit more whereas with the softer sponge you can hit through the ball a bit more.

are these chinese rubber requires more power to use all of the potential from the rubber?

That is an interesting way of looking at it.  I guess they don't have as much natural bounce but they do perform well when you play a full stroke with them.

If budget is tight do you prefer lower priced European rubher or a better Chinese  rubber ? I am playing tt from last 4 years and I am an aggressive player.

Go for whatever feels right but the Chinese rubbers do tend to be a bit cheaper.
