A couple of podcasts ago you mentioned how the correct technique is important to learn as it is optimized to be effective at the highest level.
I wonder if you have noticed, that Chen Weixing has a forehand counterloop action which is in a sort of sweeping motion that looks nothing like the conventional action.
How does it work for him ? Does this mean that there are other actions (only slightly varied from text-book) that can be fine tuned to work at the highest level as well ?

Yes Chen Weixing is usually playing a counterspin against a heavy topspin ball so his stroke is specific for that type of ball.

But isnt it different from the stroke of other players who play against the same heavy topspin ball ?
A little but the basics are the same.
