Alois, Jeff,

First of all, thank you for a probably the best website on table tennis. I really appreciate your tutorials.

I am just buying new rubbers. I thought about Tibhar Rapid. Tibhar describes its rubbers by a 'catapult effect' (low-medium-high-extreme) and I am just not sure what they actually mean.

Could you throw some light on this?

Thanks in advance. Greetings from Brussels / Belgium and thanks again for a great website.

Pawel.

Hi Pawel,

Thanks for the kind words.

The Catapult effect is basically the speed of the racket.  Usually it refers to the rubber being stretched which means that there is more tension in the rubber which will make it faster.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
