Strokes
hi coach!
I have a problem when they do some topspin stroke, i block but some time they do the topspin really spin and some time it got no spin, so when i block it, it sometimes goes out or net, what should I do to keep the block in to the table and know how much spin it has on it?

Hi Long,
Try to watch the contact of the topspin and also watch the flight of the ball. These two things will help you to tell how much spin is on the ball.
There is no substitute for experience with this though.
For the block, hit through the ball firmly to start with so that the spin doesn’t have as much effect. You can even put a little topspin on your blocks. If you just put your bat there and let the ball hit it, then all of the spin or lack of spin will take effect.
Most players are told to always return to the ready position after every stroke but that might be hurting your game. In this video, we reveal a smarter way to recover:
✔ Track the ball immediately after your shot
✔ Move your racket into position for the next shot instead of blindly resetting
✔ Improve your timing, balance, and flow during rallies
Whether you’re a beginner or advanced player, understanding this subtle change can have a big impact on your consistency and speed around the table.
