Training
My playing partner happens to be a lefty, so I have gotten a lot better with my backhand than I previously was. The problem is, when I go to play a righty, my forehand seems to be a lot weaker, as it doesn't get as much practice. Keep in mind me and my playing partner are at the intermediate level, so the majority of shots are cross court, hence why my forehand is not hit to much.
Thanks!
Drew
Hi Drew,
In your hitting or training times take the time to just practice on the forehand diagonal. You can practice hitting as many balls as you can fro your forehand to his backhand corner. It will probably also improve his backhand.
A key tactic in Table Tennis is to serve short, get a long return and then attack the third ball with a topspin stroke. It's important in matches to make sure you can make that third ball consistently on the table so you can maintain the pressure on your opponent. This week we give you a number of exercises to work on your consistency.
