Strokes
How much should we bend while playing table tennis.
What are the exercises recommended by you to get a good footwork and for how many minutes should I do it daily.
Hi Sonia,
Take a look at the Basic Stance tutorial fo some help on this.
Ideally you need to bend enough so that you are able to utilise your legs to move fast. This can be different for each player but the stronger you can get your legs and the lower you can go the better.
To get your legs stronger things like squats and skipping are good ideas. You should try to see someone that will be able to help you with with this area of your development. If you can get to a gym and get some ideas this will really help you.
Most players are told to always return to the ready position after every stroke but that might be hurting your game. In this video, we reveal a smarter way to recover:
✔ Track the ball immediately after your shot
✔ Move your racket into position for the next shot instead of blindly resetting
✔ Improve your timing, balance, and flow during rallies
Whether you’re a beginner or advanced player, understanding this subtle change can have a big impact on your consistency and speed around the table.
