Hi! many people tell me that I hold the bat too tight, and I cannot generate enough topspin with forehand shots. Which is because I am putting too much power to hold the bat tight and not able to move the arm as fast as I can.
But when I hold the bat loose, I have noticed that my bat vibrates and gives me a shock feeling in my palm while countering powerful strokes. Also when I try to do forehand topspin with loose grip, my bat tends to displace around in my palm. Is this normal?
Hi Mrudul,
You need a loose grip to allow your wrist and fingers to flow through with the stroke. If they are restricted then you are not using all of the parts of your hand that will help you to generate speed. The bat should be able to be pulled out of your hand but obviously not that loose that it will slip when you are playing a stroke.
