Equipment
hello i just started playing table tennis and i have a custom made bat that is a mazanov off+ bat and sriver fx rubber for both side and i am having problem with hitting the ball i mean it seems that i have not that perfect control on my bat for example when i do forehand counterhit or topspin the ball goes out of table do you think the BAT is my problem or something else ?
Hi Justin,
It certainly does sound like you have a bat that is too fast for you. For a beginner I would recommend something slower in the blade as well as the rubber. Perhaps a Blade with n All Round Rating and a rubber with much more control.
This is a common mistake for beginners. Always err on th eside of control to start with so that you can develop your strokes.
There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
