Hi Shrihari,

I would persevere with the GKI bat.  You will find that you will get used to the speed of it and you will also be able to generate some basic spin with it.  They are a reasonably slow range of bats.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!

You are asking for suggestion for blade or rubber?

In response to chopping and flying off the table can have a few possibilities:

1. You are using inverted rubber and making a chop against topspin which will make the ball fly high and off the end of your opponent's tables. For this, consider long pimpled rubber?

2. You are putting too much forward push, resulting in too much forward momentum causing it to overshot the table. For this, perhaps either put in slightly less forward push like chopping more vertically as seen in the forehand and backhand chop videos, or if the ball flies very high when you chop, chop more vertically or chop when the ball falls lower below table height?
