What’s a good ball machine to play alone?
Hi Lieng,
There is a wide variety of robots and usually their price tends to go hand in hand with the functionality.
It depends on what you want to spend. The basic ones will feed the ball out to you in one position and with one type of spin. The more advanced ones will be able to change spin, speed and direction with each ball and remember a sequence of types of balls to feed out.
Take a look at our Blog on Table Tennis Robots. It doesn't have suggestions about specific types but I think it covers some areas of learning.
In this session we talk about the length of your placement. Often we think that we need to always hit the ball deeper and faster however sometimes playing a shorter ball during a rally can catch your opponent off guard. If this happens to you, you need to ensure you are able to move forward and deal with the shorter ball.
