ive been going to a club for about 2 months now and have improved a lot, but over the last week or 2 ive found my form deteriorate badly, even basic drives cant find the table or hit the net. my training partner has struggled with form also, this seems to be a phase as we were getting better each session for a while, but it is a long frustrating phase, we go 3 times a week most weeks, i was wondering is this something all players experience? and any tips on how to break out of it would be greatly appreciated. i think it is all mental, maybe because we have improved so quickly we expect too much from ourselves every session. any comments from other players would be appreciated also. thanks.

Hi Andrew,

I think you have realised a lot for yourself. Itis all mental.  Your physical ability never decreases unless you have an injury.

It often comes from expectation, and this often comes when you are improving quickly.  As soon as you think you have "Got It", you haven't.

So let go of expectations and start to appreciate how well you can play already.  Enjoy hitting the ball and watch what you can do.
